HAPPY THANKSGIVING Penny!
This week, Thanksgiving week (or really, the weekend FOLLOWING Thanksgiving) was always so much fun in Newport! Back then, the 1970s, IS WHEN they FIRST began putting up the Christmas decorations for that year. A very different time, for sure. Much less commercial.
I do love to see all the Christmas coming out in the stores. My heart does a pity pat (Maybe my Christmas Eve B Day?) but then I immediately think “THIS is NOT WHAT it is about. Christmas pushing its way in behind all the Halloween things! I promised myself that this year I would keep prospective on WHAT Christmas actually IS and WHAT it means to me. I have resisted (mostly!) the urge to put up Christmas decor and I might be the only one on my street!
I did put one tiny little tree up on a family room shelf, but pumpkins it is! This till we begin that all important Advent 2023!
All the very best to you and your family!
