Has someone offended or rejected you and you need to know how to “shake it off “?

I know I’ll probably get some blow–back for sharing this – but one of the things I do when I need to do that is watch Taylor Swift’s YouTube Video.  She is so funny and the dancing is amazing. You might be offended by some of the shaking that goes on during the video, but try to overlook it, and let the music, the dancing and Taylor’s entertaining antics cheer you up. She’s right on when she sings, “The players and gonna play, play, play, and the haters and gonna hate, hate, hate.” There is nothing you can do to change the way people act. You can only change the way you react.

In Acts 28:2-6 there’s a story about the Apostle Paul helping some people build a fire. A poisonous snake crawled out of the wood, bit Paul, and attached itself to his hand. What did He do? He shook the snake off into the fire and acted as if nothing had happened. When the people saw the snake hanging from Paul’s hand theystarted saying that even though he had escaped being shipwrecked, he must be a wicked person to have such an evil thing happen to him. They watched and waited for him to puff up, and die. “But after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.”

The next time somebody offends or rejects you—look at it as a bite from Satan.

Pray, and ask God to give you the grace you need to quickly shake it off. Act in a godly manner, and be a powerful witness to others of who you really are—and Whose you are.
