It’s time to talk turkey about the holiday season. I don’t want to rush things, but I’m beginning to give some serious thought to Christmas mail.
Is it just me, or have you also noticed how hard it’s become to find Christ among Christmas cards? I had to sort through box after box of cute bunnies, red cardinals, and cupcakes to find a few with anything relating to the Christmas story.
The bunnies in the snow are sweet, but if they’re not adoringly gathered around the manger, what meaning do they bring to Christmas?
And please don’t scratch me off your list for saying this, but what do those glossy “Happy Holidays from Our House to Yours” Postcards featuring the family dog have to do with the Reason for The Season?
Don’t get me wrong. I love reading Christmas newsletters and seeing photos of family and friends – I send them myself each year – but they’re tucked inside a card that celebrates the miracle of Christmas.
As it becomes harder and harder to share the love of God with others, let’s not miss this holiday season to do all we can to bring glory and honor to God.
How about you? What kind of cards will you be sending this year?
“. . .whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31
