HOW TO KEEP YOUR HEART FILLED WITH EASTER

The chocolate bunnies are eaten, colored eggs in the fridge, and pastel decorations put away. Easter comes and goes each year with more silence than Christmas, but what remains?
As I consider the incomprehensible sacrifice of Jesus Christ as an offering for my sins I wonder: Why would God send His Son to die in my place? Who am I that God who see my sin would look on me with love?
My first response is a sense of immeasurable unworthiness that Jesus Christ was willing to suffer and die on my behalf. “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Then I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness that I’m loved by God and of such great value to Him. “For God so loved ‘Norma’ (place your own name here) that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
As you put away empty baskets, once filled with all the sweetness of Easter, take time to think of ways to keep your heart filled with the a deep sense of God’s love—love that can’t be boxed away until next year.
