Most of the ballots are counted – and it appears President Obama has been re-elected.
In the coming weeks and months, the Obama Administration will be emboldened like never before to intensify its attacks on your religious liberty, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and our nation’s Constitution.
What you’ve seen up until now is just a taste of what’s to come. The platform of the President’s party and his outrageous promises to Planned Parenthood, advocates of homosexual behavior, and countless special interests assure us of this. The Obama Administration will continue trampling on your faith and liberty by:
- Funneling hundreds of millions more taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood – which consistently encourages abortion and is the nation’s largest abortion provider.
- Forcing Christian employers to either abandon their faith or pay staggering fines that will likely put them out of business.
- Refusing to defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act, while advocating for same-sex “marriage.”
- Pushing the homosexual agenda on our children in public schools.
- Appointing more and more liberal, activist judges. And so much more…
This presidential election could have more consequences for your religious freedom and the future of America than any previous election in our nation’s 236-year history.
So we have a simple choice that has never been so clear: We can saddle up and fight, or we can wring our hands and surrender, and give our liberty away by default.
Thanks to your prayers and past support, Alliance Defending Freedom and our allies on the front lines of this legal battle have never been more needed, more prepared, more experienced (winning nearly 3 out of 4 legal battles, by God’s grace), with more Allied Attorneys (nearly 2,200), and more equipped to fight for you. With the Lord’s mercy, we will continue to stand against the Obama Administration and its radical anti-Judeo-Christian allies every step of the way – and win many more “impossible” victories for you as we have in case after case.
But we need two things as never before in our 19-year history: we need your fervent prayers to go before us and cover us, and your financial support. Much of what we can do now to stand for you and the Body of Christ comes down to “a matter of supplies”: the funds to fight.
Apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). But God enables those He calls, and He has called Alliance Defending Freedom for such a time as this.

Did you stay awake all night and watch the election results as they came in?
I went to bed. I just couldn’t take it anymore. This morning, at a reasonable hour, and fortified with a warm cup of coffee, I took a deep breath, clicked on the TV and braced myself for the news.
Though I am admittedly disappointed with the results I am not discouraged. Why?
Because I know and believe God is the king maker and that He is still on His throne.
I also know that God answers prayers and that is prayer is the cure for any post-election blues we may be feeling.
As we continue to pray for our nation and its leaders we should be waiting with a joyful expectation for Him to answer. As we wait we should continue to do the two things Jesus asked us to do:
- Love God
- Love Each Other
Jesus never said it was going to be easy to be a contender of the faith. In fact, with tongue in cheek He asked His closest followers, “Do you finally believe?” I can see them all (because I would have been one of them) adamantly shaking their heads, “yes”, swearing their undying belief and allegiance to Jesus.
Then Jesus tells them how it really is. “In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me.” That must have stung!!
Thankfully, He didn’t leave them there. He went on to encourage and strengthen them. “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” (John 16:32-33 – The Message)
That is good news! We know how this story ends! In the meantime, what we must do is continue trusting Him while praying fervently for our nation and its leaders. This is not the time to throw up our hands and adopt a “que sera, sera” (what will be, will be) mentality. This is the time to raise our hands in sweet surrender to the LORD of Hosts, praising Him for who He is remembering His precious and magnificent promises*.
Also, remember: You are not alone. There are many, many people in our country deeply committed to preserving Christian values.
