Maybe you’ve seen the commercial for Prevagen—a dietary supplement that claims to support healthy brain function and better memory. It’s aimed at people suffering with memory lossand ends with the words, “Pregagen, the name to remember.” If you think about it, that’s pretty funny.
What’s not so funny is the tendency I have toward spiritual forgetfulness. When the going gets rough I’m like the post Exodus crowd of Psalm 78. I forget to LOOK BACK and remember all God has already done for me. My spiritual amnesia keeps me from trusting Him. Instead of confidently stepping forward, I cower on the banks of a promised future planned to prosper me, not harm me. (Jeremiah 29:11)
My journal entries help me remember:
Why not begin a journal of your own? Start by simply writing the three best things that happened to you today in a little book you keep by your bed. The words will help you LOOK BACK and remember, as Psalm 78:4 declares, “the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.”
