In Case You Didn’t Know

Egg and spermThis past week the front boulevard along Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada was covered with 100,000 pink and blue flags as a testimony to the approximately 100,000 girls and boys that are denied their right to life every year in Canada.  Canada is the only democracy in the entire world that does not have an abortion law and our neighbors to the north have never before seen anything like this demonstration.

Amazing Flag Display Honors 100,000 Babies Killed in Abortions in Canada Each YearBravo Canada!  And bravo to the two young Canadians standing in front of the flags.  They give me great hope for the future of Canada and the USA.  Why?  Because, at present, only 44 percent of Americans under the age of 30 are able to identify the Supreme Court Roe v Wade decision as having something to do with abortion and have little or no knowledge that, since that landmark decision, more than 54 million “legal” abortions have being performed in the United States; this equates to more than 3,000 abortions daily or about one abortion every 30 seconds.

What I think, feel, or believe about abortion will certainly not come as any surprise to anyone who knows me or regularly reads what I write in this blog.  I am unquestionably pro-life and believe life begins at the moment of conception.  I am also unquestionably serious about my responsibility to investigate the views and positions of the men and women for whom I have the hard earned and protected privilege to vote.

Though I am simply the author of this little known Bounce! Don’t Break… blog and just one Christian voter with the right to punch whatever button I choose in the voting booth and though what I have to say here and how I vote may hold some weight, it does not hold anywhere near the weight of the man who said this on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade:

“…We must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.  I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right.  While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue; no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.  And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams. Barrack Hussein Obama, President of the United States of America

Whether you agree or disagree with the President’s stand on abortion, if you did not vote in the last election… you have nothing to say!

If you want a say, you have to vote!

In order to vote you must be registered and voter registration ends THIS MONDAY, OCT 6th

  • Find out where to register and do it right away – today.  (If you miss being registerd to vote in this election you’ll be ready for the next one.)
  • Do your homework. Research who the candidates are and what they believe.
  • Pray for our nation’s leaders and for godly men and women to be elected and remain in office.
  • Take action.  Mark your calendar and on Tuesday, November 4th go to the polls and vote your conscience.

I’m posting this early this week because I thought you might like to know about the encouraging actions of our Canadian brothers and sisters and as reminder of the urgency and importance of taking action to register and vote.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14
